This Harrison County native was best known for his Randolph Mason stories and Uncle Abner: Master of Mysteries. In total, he wrote about 230 works, mostly detective stories.
Post loved nature and often set his stories in West Virginia. He studied law at West Virginia University but chose to write instead. He and his wife, Ann, traveled a lot before settling back in Harrison County.
In 2021, his Uncle Abner stories were featured in a podcast called Mysterious Mountains.
