This Wheeling photographer started his own studio in 1909 and became the top portrait photographer in the city. Kossuth took pictures of many famous people who passed through Wheeling, including musician/composer Leopold Stokowski, who hired him as his personal photographer for six years. Other important subjects included Richard Nixon and Clarence Darrow. Besides photography, Kossuth helped promote arts in Wheeling and worked to save local artist Jeanie Caldwell Daugherty’s work.
