This Gassaway native works with many materials. After serving in Vietnam, he studied art at West Virginia State College (now University). His art often shows a strong connection to his home and features nature such as herons, catfish, mountains, and water.
He lived in a trailer in Poca (Kanawha County), which inspired much of his work, symbolizing safety in a busy world. Later, he and his daughter built a unique home on Tyler Mountain, using mostly recycled materials. His art is part of collections at museums such as the Clay Center’s Juliet Gallery of Art.
