This Morgantown native studied at West Virginia University and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She often visited Provincetown, Massachusetts, where she learned from famous artists and showed her prints.

Taylor created many paintings, prints, and collages in both realistic and abstract styles. She taught art for many years and became president of Mason College of Fine Arts in Charleston. After the college merged with Morris Harvey College, she continued teaching until retiring in 1968.

She helped start the Allied Artists of West Virginia and the American Color Print Society. Her work is shown in museums such as the National Museum of Women in the Arts and the West Virginia State Museum.
