Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church in Grafton was the site of the nation's first Mother’s Day celebration on May 10, 1908. It was organized by Anna Jarvis to honor her mother, who had worked at the church for many years.

The church later became a historic shrine dedicated to Mother’s Day. Today, it preserves original items and tells the story of how the holiday began.
