Capon Springs Resort in Hampshire County is a 5,000-acre retreat known for its mineral springs. The resort opened in the 1700s, and its main hotel (Mountain House) was built in 1849. The Austin family bought the resort in 1932 and still manages it today. The Austins renovated it, adding a golf course and a pool, and it was popular during World War II.

The resort maintains a focus on simplicity, trust, and tradition. Rooms have no locks, phones, or TVs. Guests enjoy family-style meals and traditional games. Also, the famous Capon Springs water is served throughout the resort.
