July 1996 floods

On July 19, more flooding occured in Hardy and Tucker counties

Moorefield and Parsons were hit by flooding before the Moorefield levee could be completed. The Cheat River at Parsons reached 19.80 feet, more than three feet above flood stage. The South Branch of the Potomac crested at 12.27 feet, more than two feet above flood stage.
