1996 Flood in Marlinton

A major flood caused great damage to Marlinton

On January 19, 1996, a flood nearly as great as the 1985 flood did severe damage to the town of Marlinton in Pocahontas County. The Greenbrier River crested at 24.33 feet in Alderson, more than 14 feet above flood stage.
