"Frances Benjamin Johnston: West Virginia Icon" Exhibit

Frances Benjamin Johnston was a West Virginia native who was an accomplished photographer, whose pioneering career of over 60 years contributed greatly to historic preservation. Her photographic surveys of the American south were backed by the Carnegie Corporation and led to the enactment of historic preservation codes in several cities that survive to this day.

The opening of the traveling exhibit starts July 1st at the Taylor County Arts Council. The TCAC is located 62 W Main St, Grafton, West Virginia 26354. The exhibit is created by the Preservation Alliance of West Virginia, with a generous grant from the West Virginia Humanities Council.
