Russian National Ballet's Cinderella at Chuck Mathena Center

The Chuck Mathena Center and The Russian National Ballet Theatre proudly present CINDERELLA, a full-length ballet in two acts on Saturday, May 6 at 7pm. With music by Sergei Prokofiev and choreography by Rostislav Zakharov, this performance is a special way to celebrate Mother’s Day! This ballet is one of the world’s most popular and melodious ballets, and has inspired a great many choreographers since its inception. The music was composed between 1940 and 1944.and the premiere of Cinderella was presented 1945 at the Bolshoi Theatre. Galina Ulanova danced the first title role. Cinderella is notable for its jubilant music, lush scenery, and for the hilarious double-roles of the stepsisters, more mad than bad in this production.

The renowned “story ballets” are enjoyed for their lush productions, costumes, music and world-class dancing. Do not miss Cinderella at the Chuck Mathena Center on Saturday, May 6 at 7pm.
