In 1980 Vicki Blythin and Dr. Jeanne Gerlach compiled and edited the first and only symphony cookbook, “Fiddling In The Kitchen” and the cover was done by Georgia Dalzell. All women were members of the symphony auxiliary. Recipes were gathered from locals, members and celebrities from West Virginia and surrounding states. The entire printing was sold out. An evening introductory party was given to boost cookbook sales and celebrities such as Lionel Cartwright donated their services as entertainment. Ms. Blythin also chaired a very successful annual Fashion Show at Oglebay Park. With an attendance of over 700 people, the fundraiser contributed additional operating funds to the symphony.
