What is stated above about Anderson Hatfield Wildcats being bushwhackers and the acts they engaged in leading to the Hatfield and McCoy feud is very true! Devil Anse wanted all of Mingo County and Pike County, Kentucky, and would stop at nothing to acquire that personal gain. The saddest part was the killing of innocent children and the beating up on the women to acquire that personal gain. Like the Bible scripture states: If you gain the world and lose your soul to the Devil what have you profited?

Were the flattop copperheads considered in these groups? From a little research they were militia attached 151st Virginia infantry led by Captain R B. Foley. Some of my family were supposed to be part of this unit.
