Hawk’s Nest: A Novel was reprinted in 2004 by The University of Tennessee Press, Knoxville, through the efforts of Tom Douglass. The forword by Douglass provides an informative overview of the novel’s importance and supplies details related to the life of Hubert Skidmore. Hubert and Hobert were graduates of Washington Irving High School in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Both are included on the first official literary map of West Virginia. The map is available from the West Virginia Folklife Center at Fairmont State University.
