SharePrint Creators Talk: "Sharing West Virginia Stories- Traveling with Brad Rice"

November 07, 2018

Charleston, Kanawha

After showing a few examples of his favorite stories for WCHS, and a snippet or two from his documentary projects, Rice will take questions about his career traveling the back roads of West Virginia. Artists, authors, cool things in general are all fair game for his Traveling West Virginia segment. Inspired at an early age by the images in West Virginia magazine, and running the roads fishing and hiking with his grandfather and dad, Brad has been fortunate enough to work in the news business and produce weekly features that expose our unique Appalachian culture to a larger audience.

Rice has earned numerous Associated Press and West Virginia Broadcasters Association awards for his work, and was the recipient of an Emmy Award in 2007. His 2015 documentary “Swiss Family Balli” was broadcast statewide on West Virginia Public Television, and was selected by the West Virginia Film Makers Festival and The West Virginia International Film Festival.
