SharePrint Seasons of Light at Shepherd University

Let the holiday spirit shine with Seasons of Light, the Annual Holiday Gala evening concert on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. and a family matinee performance on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Frank Center Theater on the campus of Shepherd University.

This warm, inspiring, and humorous holiday musical tradition at Shepherd University weaves stories and poetry about light in a season of reflection throughout history and culture with a rich tapestry of musical offerings. The Seasons of Light Holiday Gala will feature performances by the Shepherd University Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Scott Hippensteel, the Shepherd Jazz Ensemble directed by Dr. Kurtis Adams, and under the direction of Dr. Erik Jones with narration by Dr. Rob Tudor, the Chamber Singers, Camerata Singers, Men’s Choir, and Concert Choir,.

The Sunday matinee will be a special treat for children and their families. In addition to the concert performance, there will be a Sing-along led by Shepherd Music Department chair Dr. Rob Tudor, an Instrument “Petting Zoo” for all ages hosted by Shepherd University music fraternities Eta Tau Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota and Xi Epsilon Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and a special guest appearance by Santa Claus!

General admission for the Saturday evening Holiday Gala concert is $20; $18 for faculty, staff, seniors 55+ and military; $10 for age 18 and under; and free for Shepherd students with Rambler ID. Special pricing for the Sunday matinee is $15 general admission; $10 for faculty, staff, seniors 55+ and military; $5 for age 18 and under; and free for Shepherd students with Rambler ID. For the Sunday matinée, children age 5 and under accompanied by an adult are FREE. Seating is limited and all concertgoers must obtain a ticket.
